In the corporate environment, and also in personal life, one of the important activities and skills of human beings is to communicate. That's why your networking needs to be good and powerful.Simply put, networking is a way of creating and nurturing a network of relationships with the aim of helping and learning from others, establishing exchanges of support and looking for business opportunities for both parties. However, this art of networking has taken on other forms, which distort the ideas and the initial principle. Many professionals make mistakes when it comes to networking, because they focus only on their interest in the person with whom they have a relationship, and fail to establish a legitimate and strengthening relationship for both parties. You have to understand that in order to establish a real relationship, it's not enough to hand over a business card or a catalogue of products and services and aim solely to do business with the person. You need to demonstrate a real desire to create a relationship in which you both feel valued. There's no point in having thousands of people on your social networks if your relationship with them is superficial or purely out of commercial interest. Invest intelligently in your networking and you'll soon have plenty of people to do business with, and in a way that's pleasurable and satisfying for everyone.
Here are some considerations that will help you make your network more consistent and bring great results to your personal and professional life: 1. Understand that just being a card distributor won't get you anywhere: How many times do we stop to organize our things and realize that we're full of cards, flyers and folders? And most of the time we don't even remember who we received it from. So when you receive a card or leaflet, make a note, something that will help you remember that person. Remember that networking isn't just about building a list of contacts. 2. Balance Quality and Quantity: The quality of your contacts and relationships is directly linked to well-executed Networking. An important point if you don't want to lose quality in your communication is to control the number of contacts you manage. The larger your network, the less chance you have of establishing quality relationships with people. So take great care to manage this "quality x quantity" binomial. 3. Apply the law of reciprocity: Networking doesn't mean being self-interested, it means being interesting and interested. Be a source of resources for the people with whom you interact and provide elements of value to those who interact with you. Another very important point is to always reciprocate the help you receive from someone. Remember that, although many people don't charge for it, people are always looking for recognition. 4. Help willingly: Whenever we help someone, whether with information, referrals, learning and so many other ways, we shouldn't do so expecting to receive something in return. Always be sure that the universe will give us back much more than what we offer someone. So always help willingly and make the wheel of prosperity turn.
These four tips are the basis for powerful networking. Invest wisely in increasing the quality of your network, and don't forget to be interesting and not self-interested! |
