16 Steps to Keep Your Mind at Peace: Part 2

As agreed, this week we'll finish our 16-step list with 8 more tips for achieving peace of mind.

Maintain a healthy emotional state!

Take a look at these valuable tips and start applying them in your daily life:

  1. At the beginning of the process of learning not to complain, you may complain in your mind, but try not to verbalise your discontent: This doesn't mean swallowing frogs or being submissive, but rather mastering the negative, discontented mind.
  2. Wanting to control others or life is impossible: Nobody changes another person or can control events, because everything is impermanent. We can and must control our minds and change ourselves.
  3. Develop a sense of gratitude, which is the antidote to not complaining: Instead of complaining, count your victories and recognise how blessed you are in many ways.
  4. Free yourself from guilt, which creates an internal prison: Instead of blaming yourself, learn from your mistakes. Develop the humility to acknowledge your mistakes and apologise. Sometimes you haven't even made a mistake and you're blaming yourself for no reason. So do the best you can, freeing yourself from demands and perfectionism.
  5. Don't feed imaginary fears: Fear is the biggest cause of our internal sufferings. Realise that they are created by the negative mind and that, when you face them, they disappear like soap bubbles because they have no consistency - they are just illusions of the negative ego.
  6. Maintain discipline in your speech, avoiding rumours and bad comments about others: Avoid quarrels and arguments, as this creates disharmony in yourself, your family and the environment around you.
  7. Regular meditation and relaxation are essential tools for calming the mind and overcoming childhood traumas and resentments.
  8. Understand that the anxious person lives thinking about the future: The angry person lives in the past. So they develop the ability to be present. Don't waste the present, this precious moment, thinking about expectations of the future or memories of the past.

Appreciate your day-to-day life, because nothing repeats itself. Live in the here and now and be more calm and balanced. Live in peace!
