Autocratic leaders usually make choices based on their own ideas and judgements, and rarely take advice from their subordinates. Although it is often criticised for being authoritarian and reducing the participation of subordinates, autocratic leadership can be effective in situations that require quick decisions or in contexts where hierarchy and obedience are crucial for success.
