The Three Pillars of Leadership
2024/08/14

The subject of leadership is one that is covered a lot in various areas and knowledge of it has become a prerequisite for employment in many large companies. In one of my last posts, What kind of leader are you?, I talked about what leadership is and what types of leaders there are. With this article, you'll be able to identify your leadership profile and how you can impact your team's results. Today, I'm going to expand on the subject by looking at the three pillars of leadership: Rules, Recognition and Results. Rules The team needs to be aware of the steps to be taken to achieve the objectives, whether they are collective or individual. At this point, it's important to provide clear information so that the limits of the organisation aren't crossed, as well as always keeping the company's ethical values in focus. Along with the team, define the scenario and the strategies to be adopted. Recognition People seek recognition. This is part of human nature. So give your team prestige and you'll maintain an organisational climate that encourages the professional development of those you lead. Involve all employees in the company's objectives to achieve a common result. Results Monitor your team on a daily basis. Only in this way will you be able to identify who is on the right track, with whom communication needs to be improved and which people need encouragement to achieve the expected result. Hold meetings to present the results and, above all, celebrate the achievements together with your team. If the result has been achieved, make it clear to everyone that they have done a great job. The role of the leader is directly linked to the company's results. If the results aren't what you expected, look for new knowledge, technical innovations and elements that will make you a more successful professional. |
