What is a Successful Salesperson?

Gone are the days when we believed that a good salesman could sell anything to anyone.

The consequence of this belief has been the distortion of the values of what we can call the real competence of selling and the formation, over the years, of a veritable army of repeaters of pre-established scripts.

Gone are the days when we believed that a good salesman could sell anything to anyone. This is a myth that prevailed in many people's minds for decades.

Today's society is much more complex and demanding, with consumers aware of their rights and of the reality of competition.

These factors have broadened their critical sense and, consequently, forced sales and service professionals to reinvent themselves, honouring Darwin's principle in the business world, where ‘not the strongest will survive, but those who adapt most quickly’.

Successful salespeople must humanise their sales process. Their skills go beyond making the sale. A salesperson's main objective is to turn the moment of the sale into an achievement for their client. Their goal must be to offer solutions that raise the customer's self-esteem, satisfy their intelligence and guarantee future consumer experiences.
